The day use site is located in Yakima County, approximately 45 miles east of Yakima. To get there, take Highway 12 west to the junction with Highway 410. Stay on Highway 12 for about another 41 miles to Forest Service Road 1200, turn left, and follow this road for about another 4 miles to the park entrance.
The day use site is nestled on the shore of Clear Lake. It includes a picnic area with shelter, an interpretive accessible trail, access to the lake for swimming, and fishing platforms. The parking area and pathways are paved.
The nature trail was created to accommodate visitors in wheelchairs, with connecting trails that allow access to numerous wildlife viewing stations along the lake. The nature trail travels through riparian areas rich with aquatic and terrestrial life. The lake is home to rainbow trout, brook trout, bull trout, cutthroat and migratory waterfowl.
The average operating season for Clear Lake Day Use Site has been about May 15 through September 15.
