Why Camp Here
Pleasant Campground sits along the bank of American River in an old growth forest setting, approximately 55 miles east of Yakima, Washington. For the hiking enthusiast some of the nearby trails are: Crow Lake Trail, Swamp Lake Trail, Cougar Valley Trail and Union Creek Trail. Other activities that can be enjoyed by all are: fishing, swimming and whitewater paddling on the American River.
Good to Know
Be careful of where you camp since there are a lot of Thatcher ants in this campground. It is a beautiful area, but there are giant anthills dotting the campground. Tent campers especially need to be aware since bites can be harmful to humans or pets.
Site Description
There are 17 sites, including back in sites with parking spurs ranging from 34-43 feet long, and a campground shelter picnic site. The interior campground roads and parking spurs are hard packed but not paved.
