$14 per site    $7 extra vehicles.

Open May 16 to October 6, 2008.

A great way to explore the Metolius River Basin area is by horseback and Sheep Springs horsecamp is where to stay. Located five miles northwest of Camp Sherman in the beautiful Metolius Basin, there are eleven sites with 44 individual box stalls. Riders in this area should be careful of burned over trees from the 2003 B and B fire.

For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower or use the laundry or even need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo's Black Butte RV and Motel (aka. Camp Sherman RV Park). Black Butte RV Park is located next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. The host will be glad to help with questions about the campgrounds as well. On crowded weekends he may have information about which campgrounds still have sites available. Also an RV dump is available at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM.

Well with hand pump, potable water and two single vaults.

DIRECTIONS - Sheep Springs Horse Camp is located about five miles northeast of Camp Sherman, near Roaring Springs.  The wooded camp surrounds the top of a beautiful two-acre meadow with springs on each end.

Turn north off Highway 20 on the Metolius River/Camp Sherman turnoff.  Over a stretch of about 3 miles you will pass cabins and the Camp Sherman fire station.  At the four way stop, continue forward on Road 1420.  This will take you past the Redmond Saddle Club.  Turn left at the next crossroads onto National Forest Road 12.  Make a right turn onto Road 1260 and then another right turn onto 200.  Once you have reached Road 420, all the turns are marked with signs indicating the direction to Sheep Springs

You can also access Sheep Springs by turning north off highway 20 on Jack Lake Road.  In about 3 miles turn left onto Road 1230.   Follow road 1230 and signs to Sheep Springs.  The last turn will be to the right and onto road 200, then a left into camp.
