I hesitate to write anything about this campground. It is one of my very favorite places to be, partially because often you can come in here and be by yourself. It is located on Salmon Creek right where a series of beautiful small falls and pools are located. This place is very popular with the local campers from Oakridge but hardly known outside of that area, because it is off the beaten path. To get there go just east of Oakridge and turn left (north) on Fish Hatchery Road before you would take a right to Hills Creek Reservoir and Packard Creek. Take Fish Hatchery to the end (about a half mile) and turn right on Hwy 24. You will be going up creek
(take your paddle) and just when you think that you are lost, there the campground entrance is on your right hand side. There are only 14 sites, but they are all nice and
all located at the most, 100 feet from the water. The campground has a nice grassy area in the center. Grab campsite 4 if you can, it is great. If you have a group go to the end of the campground where the higher number sites are located. There are several sites there together cut off from the rest of the area.
There are two vault style toilets and the drinking water is from
a hand pump.
