RESERVATION
FAQ's:
- Do I need a Reservation?
Reservations are not
needed for most of our campgrounds except for Group campgrounds, only about
60% of the campsites in each campground are reserveable. For most
campgrounds you should make your reservations early if you prefer a popular
date. There are no reservations before Memorial Day Weekend or after the
second weekend in September.
- How do I make Reservations?
To make a
reservation at a specific campground, the easiest way is to use the menu bar
on the left to find the specific
reservable campground
that you are interested in. On
those pages you will find the reservable sites
listed in red. From the information
provided decide which campground is right for you, then click on the NRRS logo,
the site number or call 1-877-444-6777 All
reservations for federal campgrounds or National Parks must be made through
their new website
www.recreation.gov
or at 1-877-444-6777
- What about the R.V. Parks?
It is best to
either email or call the individual parks for reservations at
Patio RV Park
(541-822-3596),
Black Butte RV and
Motel Resort
(541-595-6514),
Dexter Shores
RV Park
(541-937-3711),
Crescent Junction
R.V. Park
(541-433-5300),
for more help feel free to either
email us
or call 541-822-3799.
- Can I make last minute
Reservations?
USFS reservations must be made at least seven days in advance in
Oregon and with three to four days in advance in Washington. Reservations
for Hoodoo or the private Hoodoo RV parks may be made 48 hours in advance
through Hoodoo or at the last minute by calling the parks directly.
- Is there a fee?
The Reservation
fee for USFS campgrounds cost about $10. The money goes to the reservation
system, not to Hoodoo. This is a one time fee for the designated site and
only is paid once for the length of the reservation. Group sites have
only one reservation fee for the length of the reservation even if they
include several sites that are designated to be a group. There is no
reservation fee for Hoodoo, Patio, Dexter Shores, or Black Butte.
- What is the "Extra Vehicle
Fee"? For individual campsites any vehicles other than
the first vehicle must pay an extra vehicle fee at the campground. The fee is
one half the camp fee per night. The fee is collected at the campground.
- Can I cancel/change my
reservations?
If you decide to change the
reservation site through the NRRS you will be charged $10 by the NRRS. However,
if you come to the campground and find another non-reserved site within that campground to
which you would like to move, you may with permission from
a Hoodoo employee move your fees to the other site without paying an additional
reservation fee. Your fee can not be transferred to another Hoodoo campground,
sorry. We do not see any of your reservation fees and have no control over your
reservation unless you actually camp at the campground. If you
have a problem with the reservation, you may find that Hoodoo might not have any
information. You should call the NRRS number above to solve
reservation problems. If you decide to cancel your reservations a week before
your reserved date, you may do so with full return of campground fees (the money
that would have gone to Hoodoo), but your reservation fee (the amount that went
to the NRRS) will be kept by them.
- I am confused, recreation.gov says_____ but hoodoo.com
says_____.
Hoodoo.com is the most up to date so it is
best when making a reservation, to get your basic information from the
Hoodoo website before you make your reservation through
recreation.gov.
Also feel free to
contact Hoodoo for help by calling either
541-822-3799 or 541-338-7869. We can't help you make or change
reservations, but we might be able to help give you advice when you are
having a problem, we will try anyway :).
- Recreation.gov told me _____ is full, am I out of
luck?
The reservation service may tell you
that the campground is full for that day but this only means that the
RESERVABLE SITES are full. They will NEVER know if the whole campground
is full unless it is a group site. (See our Availability Page for updated
information) Most campgrounds, if they offer reservations, still have 40% or
more sites left for those who choose not to make reservations. In addition
most campgrounds have other campgrounds nearby where sites may be empty.
Study our area maps carefully and check for second choices. During the
Memorial Day weekend, July 4 weekend, and Labor Day weekend campgrounds will
start filling up everywhere. These are good times to make reservations or
arrive early if possible. If you do come early remember to set up your
tent site and pay your fee otherwise it will be assumed that the site is
vacant. You are required to be there the first night and fees must always be
paid.
- Can I use my Golden Age/Access Card?
Yes, but there are some
points to keep in mind. The cards may only be used to reserve one campsite
at a time. It is possible that the reservation system may allow you to
make multiple reservations if they don't catch it, but the host at the
campground will check your card and you must have it with you when you check
in. If you have reserved more than one campsite during the same period of
time with the card, or if the card holder is not present, the campers will
be asked to pay the full fees. Also if you have used the card to reserve a
site that card may not be used with an extra vehicle as well.
