Host is in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

      On the shore of Lake Billy Chinook at 2000 feet elevation, Perry South features 64 camping sites, most first come, first served. However, we have put some of these sites into the reservation system starting in 2005. This campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in Oregon's US Forest in terms of non vacant sites. Try to get here early on Friday or before, if you are coming for the weekend. During Memorial Weekend and during the heart of the season, after July 4, campers often come on Wednesday to get the best sites. A day use fee of $5 is charged for those parking here for the day only or $10 for overnight parking for houseboat campers. Our reservation sites are up the hill from the water and are not necessarily the favorite sites. If you have a reservation site and when you get here you see a non-reservation site that you would rather have, you can change sites with the permission of the host. He needs to know that your reservation site will be available for others as a first come - first serve site. The reservation sites are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,  41, 42,43,44, 45, 48, 52, 57, 58, 59. The reservation sites are basically between the entry and the host site with some uphill from that area. The campground has pump water and 2 vault style, and 4 new CXT style comfort stations.   A day use area is available as well as a boat launch and a fish cleaning station.

     Memorial Weekend Only - Please note that special rates are in use during Memorial Weekend. This is a particularly crowded weekend. Extra Hoodoo and USFS staff are on duty. Each site will have a certain number of vehicles and persons allowed in that site and this will be strictly enforced. (Check with host as you come in) Please realize that this campground is sometimes loud on Memorial Weekend. If you want a quiet, peaceful, nature experience this IS NOT the place to be on this weekend. While the parties are closely watched for illegal drinking or drugs we do realize that many people do come here to party with their friends and you should be warned of this also. However, campers are still expected to obey the rules and may be asked to leave without a refund it this becomes a problem. Campers do not have permission to disobey the rules, but rather we are giving warning here that we have had a history of problems on this weekend with loud parties. Whether it be this weekend or any other, if you are in a group that plans to party we ask that you camp in the upper campsites above the host site and away from other campers. Campers closer to the water than the host will find loud partying less tolerated by their neighbors and thus the host may have to end your festivities. Please always be aware of your fellow camper's needs. However to be sure, we recommend the Metolius in Camp Sherman for a quiet Memorial Weekend. On Wednesday, Thursday,  Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of Memorial Weekend (May 21 though May 27, 2008) the site fee is $20, the extra vehicle fee is $10, and the day use fee is $5. All day use vehicles including visitors must leave the campground no later than 10 PM or they will be ticketed. Also be aware that the best sites are usually taken by Wednesday or Thursday. Do not think that you will be able to come in on Friday evening and get a good site.  No one will be allowed in after 10 PM so plan accordingly. You will be turned back at the upper road
