Olallie
is conveniently located along Highway 126 near the base of the McKenzie Pass
Drive. This campground provides an easy overnight stop when crossing the
mountains. The sites near the highway can be noisy but perhaps safer for
those hunters who leave their sites for extended times and want sites that can
be seen from the highway. The sites along the river (12-17) are scenic and
serene. The river sites are sunnier and a little more private than
Paradise. At the corner of the campground the fast flowing
Olallie Creek
flows into the McKenzie. Parents with small children should be careful.
For those staying long enough there are showers, RV dump, and laundry available
for a fee at nearby Patio RV Park. The park is part of the Hoodoo family and is
a source of information about the area. There is one hand pump on the lower loop
and two double vault style toilets. Douglas fir, cedar, hemlock, maple and alder flank this scenic camping
area.
16 sites in all, six of
Olallie's campsites are riverside
and all but #1 are reservable. Reservations may be made by calling the NRRS at
1-877-444-6777 or by visiting their website which you can access by clicking on the banner
below. Reservations are not required, but are recommended.
When
Olallie is full, check out Limberlost
and McKenzie Bridge, both within a few miles of
Olallie.
They often have vacancies when Olallie does not.
