Why Camp Here
The campground is located in the midst of an old growth Douglas Fir – Western Red Cedar rainforest. One could almost imagine Money Creek campground as a time machine taking the camper back to when men were men and trees were trees (and women were women too). Camping beneath these giants on the bank of the South Fork of the Skykomish River is an experience everyone should enjoy least once. However, these days you aren’t quite back in the Nineteenth Century as most cell phones work here and you are only minutes away from civilization in the town of Skykomish.

Good to Know
This is an historic train area and close to the site of one of the most famous avalanche – train accidents in U. S. history. Avalanches aren’t a factor during camping season, but trains are. If the sound of trains bothers you, you might want to camp in nearby Beckler instead. However, the campground is only seconds off the highway and yet only minutes away from the deep forested area of this part of Washington.

Money Creek is very popular and reservations might be a good idea. Many of the spurs are paved and the camp road easily accommodates the largest RVs.

We expect to have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be visiting the campground two to four times per day.

RV use rating is 5 out of 5
