Why  Camp Here
Esswine is a group site located on the north side of the Mountain Loop Road about 6 miles east of the Verlot Public Service Center on the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River. The view is spectacular but the campground has a relatively low elevation at about 1,650 feet. The small group site is a good alternative for a few of you trying to find some single sites next to one another. If you were to reserve three or four single sites in another campground you would end up probably paying more than this group site where you get the entire campground to yourselves. Some families like to do the small group sites just so that they can have complete privacy and not have to worry about the dogs or kids wondering into someone else’s site.  It gives you great privacy and is ideal for tents mixed with RVs. There are four tent pads and four picnic tables plus two separate camping areas around two different fire pits. There is room for about 25 campers.

Good to Know
If the gates are locked, please check in with the host at the Gold Basin campground as you head into the campground. The Gold Basin host normally checks in on the campground from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, otherwise an attendant will be visiting the campground two to four times per day.

There is NO WATER so bring your own supplies.

Directions

Travel to Granite Falls WA, then head east on the Mountain Loop Scenic Byway for about 16 miles until you reach the entrance to the campground.
