The Mt. Loop Highway Scenic area is the heart of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie Forest. The Loop goes from Granite Falls, near Lake Stevens and Everett east and then north to Darrington and then west to Arlington. The Forest’s most popular campground, Gold Basin, is located here along with several others that get constant use. This is also where most of the good average size group campgrounds are located. Wiley Creek has three camping structures and the others mostly are meant for groups of around 25, although Gold Basin’s group campground could easily fit up to 75.
