Why Camp Here
Silver Fir Campground is located on the North Fork of the Nooksack River and next to some of the most spectacular mountain views in the country. Just a few miles away is one of the snowiest places in the US below Alaska, the Mt. Baker Ski Area, which has been known to have over a hundred feet of snow in a winter season. However, during the summer season the campground is a pleasant place to enjoy summer sunshine and clean air.
Good to Know
Nearby Bellingham is a great place to visit with some good restaurants for a smaller city. Stop for a Pita at the college hangout, Pita Pit, located downtown. If you want to spend more time and more money there are some great places to do that in Bellingham as well.
When you camp make sure you keep your food in the car. There are bears around and while they don’t have a reputation of being dangerous here, they are likely to steal your food if you leave it out. Feeding animals in the wild is always a bad thing no matter whether it is intended or not.
There is only a day use group site, not an overnight group site. Overnighters who reserve the group site must have overnight sites as well as the day use group site.
RV use rating is 5 out of 5
