The Mather Memorial Parkway or Highway 410 runs from 1-5 to the north side of Mt. Rainier through the City of Enumclaw. These two campgrounds are some of the nicest Forest Service campgrounds that you will find. They have large sites and spurs perfect for the largest RVs, but are isolated under mammoth Douglas Firs perfect for the tent campers. You will feel like you have stepped back into time before the time of the lumber jack when giant trees ruled along side untamed rivers. However, civilization rules as well with flush toilets and pressurized water systems. Although you are only minutes away from the National Park, you still have the cheaper sites available and your chances of finding a site at the last minute are much better here. Both campgrounds have day use group areas that may be reserved FOR THE DAY, but they are not overnight sites. If you want to stay overnight, you need to reserve camping sites as well. The Mather Parkway continues over the summit of Chinnok Pass and into the Wenatchee National Forest. We also have several campgrounds there on the east side of Mt. Rainier and if you were to travel south to Hwy 12 we also have many campgrounds on the south slopes of Mt. Rainier as well in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
