Hoodoo Resort & RV Park

During the winter Hoodoo is one of Oregon's oldest and at the time most modern ski areas. Founded in 1938, Hoodoo has a lot of history, but since the year 2000 has gone through a complete overhaul that includes one of the nicest and largest ski lodges anywhere. Hoodoo is situated at the top of the Santiam Pass in the mid Cascades. For the daily or nearby camper there is a camp store with all the daily needs like soda, beer, and fishing items. It also carries a lot of this and that. There is also an RV dump and showers (presently closed), propane fill up, and directions and information for over 70 campgrounds in the nearby area. For those who would like to hang around for a while Hoodoo offers more.

HOODOO CAN ACCOMMODATE GROUPS OF UP TO 1,000 CAMPERS. Hoodoo has 32 hookups with electricity, cable TV and water (summer only). It also has a free RV dump (presently closed) for those spending the night, or it costs $8 for those just passing through. Nightly hookups cost $30 to $45 both summer and winter, or $15 per night for non hookups. This is the perfect place for a large RV group. The parking lot is about 5 acres and can easily fit up to 400 vehicles. Hoodoo's lodge is brand new, light, and spacious. It has seating for up to 1,000 people at one time. There is a locker room with shower rooms for men and women and more showers in large tiled bathrooms that are open 24/7. The lodges kitchen may be rented or food can be provided in a restaurant setting. The price for the lodge depends upon the number of guests. Prices range from $10 per vehicle with use of the main bathrooms and showers, to $2,000 per day for the whole facility and up to 100 vehicles. Kitchen use or food would be extra and the charge for over 100 vehicles would be $10 per vehicle. We are available for private parties as well.

The main attractions of the area are the opportunities for getting out into the wilderness. Mt Jefferson Wilderness is close by as it the Cascade Trail that goes from Canada to Mexico. The lodge is nestled at the base of the Hoodoo and Hayrick Mountains. Hikers will find great views and lots of exercise. The Big Lake boat ramp and day use area is close by. The Big Lake daily charge is $5 or free to those staying at Hoodoo. This is the ideal site for large RV groups wanting a place to play cards, dance, eat, or just spend time together. Hoodoo is also available to tenting groups. The price ranges on your needs and the size of the group.

GROUP ADVANTAGES:  Each year we have many different RV traveling groups that stay with us in all the RV parks. In the past many of you have stayed at several of the parks we now manage, but under different ownership of each park. We are now trying to encourage your groups to stay with our three RV full hookup parks, Black Butte Resort, Patio RV and Dexter Shores and experience the Hoodoo difference. We do offer for groups of 4 or more, group rates at each park that are lower than the normal rates less the normal types of discounts like Good Sam or AAA . In addition for groups of 10 or more we offer a free site for the wagon master to reward the leader for putting your trip together. And finally, to keep you coming back to our parks we will drop your daily site fee for each site that you use by $1 off the already low group rate when you camp at two of our parks. If you camp at all three of the parks we will drop $2 off the daily group rate for the third park. To qualify for the discount you must make the trips within one calendar year. Some of you groups already stay in all three of our parks each year. Make sure that you keep a receipt from your trips as evidence that stayed in our other parks during the year. Also, if possible, please mention that you qualify for the discount when you make the reservation so that we can have our paperwork accurate for you when you arrive.  Call our individual parks for group rates and reservations. You do not have to have the same RVs on each trip, but the number of RVs does matter. If you bring 10 RVs to the first group outing, you will qualify for up to 10 single discounts at the next outing. If you only bring 4 to the second one, you will qualify for 4 double discounts at the third and 6 single discounts for the third outing. If this isn't clear ask at the RV park. Hoodoo's RV Park is a little different. There each group will negotiate its own price depending upon how many are in the group and when you arrive. The basic rate is $30 to $45. Large summer groups will be charged on a package deal depending upon whether you need to use the lodge. While we only have hookups for 32 at Hoodoo, we do have room for short term stays for up to 500 rigs. Hoodoo is perfect for those who need a large lodge in which to meet in large groups.
