Why Camp Here
Beaver is a short drive from the Columbia Gorge on the road that starts at Carson on the river, goes through Stabler and travels through several FS campgrounds including Beaver before going past the east or south side of Mt. St. Helens and then up to Randle on Hwy 12. Located within a mile of the Carson Fish Hatchery, this campground offers some of the closest and nicest Forest Service camping near Portland and Vancouver. The maple tree forest offers shade during the summer in an open setting campground that includes a grass central area that is perfect for throwing the ball or swinging on the swings.

Good to Know
The Northwest is beaver country and consequently there are a lot of Beaver named campgrounds. Hoodoo manages several of them. Make sure when you are making a reservation you are reserving Beaver Campground in the Gifford Pinchot Forest. It is a low altitude campground at only 1,050 feet which means we should be able to open it in early May and stay open until October.

We expect to have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be in the campground two to four times per day.

RV use rating is 5 out of 5
