Why Camp Here
Big Creek is probably best known for its location since many of the campers from the Puget Sound area headed to Mt. Rainier National Park pass by as they approach the southwestern Nisqually entrance of the park off state highway 706. Big Creek is just five miles southwest on FS Road 52. The campground serves as a perfect overflow area for the National Park or for those who would prefer to avoid driving the curvy roads of the Park with their RVs. It’s easy to park and camp at Big Creek. It is also close to the small town of Ashford where you can stock up with supplies.
Good to Know
We expect to have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be in the campground two to four times per day.
