All reservations require a four day advance notice. Single sites can be reserved up to 6 months in advance, while the group  sites 1 – 15 may be reserved up to a year in advance.

Why Camp Here
Crane Prairie is one of the nicest campgrounds we manage and one of the most under-utilized as well. The campground has 146 campsites, many of which are right on the water or within a minute or two walk. The roads going through the campground are paved as are many of the site spurs. Each site would be considered one of the best in any other campground. The sites are fairly isolated from one another and large enough to easily fit the whole family.

Good to Know
If you need a shower there is a public shower area at the resort next door along with a small grocery store that will help provide you with your emergency marsh mallows or beer. We expect to have special programs on many of the weekends at the centrally located amphitheater. A schedule of events will be attached to this page when the schedule is known.

Although we do have both group, and single reservation sites, reservations for single sites mostly will not be needed except on major holidays, because there are so many sites. If you are a last minute camper this is the place to go to find a very nice site even at the last minute. However, about 60% of the campgrounds can be reserved, including a 15 site group area on the water. (The Yellow Loop including sites 1-15)

10 MPH speed limit is enforced for boating on Crane Prairie.

We expect to have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be in the campground two to four times per day.

Site Description
The group site can handle up to 25 vehicles and 90 campers.

Directions

-From Highway 58, turn east onto Crescent Road at the sign for Davis Lake and Wickiup Reservoir, midway between mileposts 72 and 73. In 3.3 miles, turn left on Forest Road 46. Drive north for 18 miles and turn east on Forest Road 42 at the sign for Twin Lakes and Crane Prairie. Drive east on Forest Road 42 for 3.8 miles, then turn north on Forest Road 4270.

-From Bend, go west on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, which becomes Forest Road 46. Follow this road to its intersection with Forest Road 42, about 52 miles from Bend. Turn onto Forest Road 42 at the sign for Twin Lakes and Crane Prairie. Drive east on Forest Road 42 for 3.8 miles, then turn north on Forest Road 4270.

-From Highway 97 between Bend and Klamath Falls, turn west to the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, 12 miles north of La Pine. After one mile, turn south on South Century Drive, which becomes Forest Road 42. Follow it for just over 17 miles to Forest Road 4270 and turn north at the sign for Crane Prairie.
