Why Camp Here
The sites in the Horse Camp are relatively tight, but the area is popular due to the beautiful rides available. The Three Creek area is known for its beautiful view of the Sisters to Bend area below it and of the Three Sisters Wilderness area above it. Some people like to come here to use it as a staging area, go into the Wilderness area, or to hike between Broken Top and the Sisters heading over to either the Waldo area or to the Cascades Lake Highway.

Good to Know
There is water available for the horses only. August is very popular, but September is better if the snow hasn’t started to fall yet.  Although many of our horse campgrounds do have reservations, this one does not. If you would like to see reservations here please email us, or if you would like to see things kept the same (which is what we anticipate for the foreseeable future) please let us know as well.

PLEASE, horse campgrounds are meant for those with horses, it can be dangerous to have people who are unfamiliar with horse camped nearby. Also horse campgrounds are limited and there are plenty of other campgrounds where those without horses can stay. Please be courteous.

Normally there is a host living in Three Creek Meadow from the opening date to early October, if not, there will be an attendant who will visit the area each day to make sure that the cleaning has been done and the fees paid.

Horse Campers may only use Certified Weed-Seed-Free Hay when you stay at any of our USFS Horse Campgrounds (Certified Weed-Seed-Free Hay has a unique color twine).
For more information please call your local USFS Ranger station or click on the link here. Hay is available through Matt Cyrus at 541-771-4980 17430 Hwy 126 between Sisters and Redmond.
