Why Camp Here
South Campground, along with Mallard Marsh Campground, has a loyal following of campers who return every year. The campgrounds together are commonly referred to as the Hosmer Lake Campgrounds.

Good to Know
South has a popular day use area with a boat ramp on Hosmer Lake. The area is not that easy to find but is just south of Elk Lake. Take the FS Road 4625 off of the Cascade Lakes Highway (FS Road 46) to Hosmer Lake. South Campground will come up on the right side first.  If you are in a group, and one of the campgrounds is full, camping in the other is almost like being in the same campground.

We expect to have a host in the Mallard Marsh Campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be visiting the campground two to four times per day.
