THE NORTH CASCADE LAKES AREA is part of the Bend Fort Rock District located on the Cascades Lake Hwy (aka Lava Lake Road) We have somewhat arbitrarily separated the Cascade Lake campgrounds into two sections to make them more manageable, but both the north and south sections are very similar to one another. The north section includes campground mostly on smaller lakes while the southern section includes campgrounds mostly on larger reservoirs and on the Deschutes River. This section includes the popular Cultus Lake area with three campgrounds that are boat – in only across from the much larger Cultus Lake Campground. Three of the campgrounds are next to resorts, Elk Lake, Lava Lake, and Cultus Lake. There are two horse campgrounds, Quinn Meadows and Cultus Corral. There are two group campgrounds in Little Lava Lake Campground and Little Fawn Campground. Finally, perhaps the most scenic campground site we manage is in this area located on Elk Lake at Point Campground.
