Why Camp Here
Newberry Group camp is the only group-only campground within the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, and with its location right on Paulina Lake it is a great choice. Cinder Hill campground also has a small group area that may be reserved, and there is the nearby Ogden Group camp as well.
Good to Know
The parking area and roads are paved and the group sites are separated from one another, but it would not be hard to join group sites B and C especially, but the whole campground can be reserved as well. There is an RV dump station near the entry of Paulina Lake campground. The fee is $10 (sorry septic hauling fees have gone through the roof)
10 MPH speed limit is enforced for boating on Paulina.
The campground is maintained by an attendant who will visit the campground about two times per day. If the door is still locked when your group arrives please contact the Paulina host nearby or another host in the Monument area.
Directions
From Bend travel about 24 miles south on Highway 97, or from LaPine travel 5 miles north, then turn east onto County Road 21 and proceed for about 14 miles until you reach the entrance to the campground.
