Why Camp Here
Pioneer Ford is one of the most popular of the campgrounds along the Metolius River since many of the sites are well suited to RVs and all of the sites are fairly private, shaded amongst a mixture of Pine and Cedar trees.  As you travel north away from our first Metolius campground, Camp Sherman, the facilities become more and more isolated which is why Pioneer Ford can be so quiet.

Good to Know
The campground is well-suited to RV’s.  Site 8 has a picnic shelter. 

For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower, use the laundry or need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo’s Camp Sherman RV and Motel, located next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. The host will be glad to help with questions about the campgrounds as well.  An RV dump is also available at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM.

A host is normally in the campground from about July 4 Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant visits the campground two to four times each day.
