Why Camp Here
Candle Creek is the last campground that you come to on the Metolius River which makes it the most isolated of the campgrounds and although it was just upgraded in 2003 it is the least developed campground. It is located 13 miles in from Hwy 20 at the Camp Sherman turn off, and you get to it by crossing the river at Lower Bridge and continuing along a mostly gravel road for about two more miles. This is a very popular campground with the locals because of its isolated location at the end of the Metolius Valley, on the river where the rapids start.
Good to Know
For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower, use the laundry or need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo’s Camp Sherman RV Park and Motel, located next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. The host will be glad to help with questions about the campgrounds as well and on crowded weekends he may have information about which campgrounds still have sites available. An RV dump is also available at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM.
There is NO WATER at Candle Creek.
