Why Camp Here
Like the other campgrounds on the Metolius, Allen Springs is nestled amongst the towering Ponderosa Pines. It is located several miles past the Camp Sherman-Gorge set of campgrounds, just past Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery (8 AM – 7 PM) on a turn of the Metolius River that broadens the river. The flow of the Metolius presents constant background music, along with the chirping of the birds and the occasional howl of night-time predators.
Good to Know
For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower, use the laundry or even need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo’s Camp Sherman RV and Motel, located next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. Also a fee RV dump is available at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM. Most of the campsites are better suited to tents rather than RVs.
There is NO WATER at Allen Springs.
We normally have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. During the off season the campground will be open with minimum services.
