Feeling hot in the summer sun? This campground is in the
deep shade of giant Douglas Fir and Red Cedar
trees and along the middle fork of the Willamette. This campground has nature's air conditioning. The sites along the river are second to none, but the other sites in the middle road areas are also very nice and private. The campground always has something open because while
most of the campsites are fantastic, some of them are close to the highway and you can hear the traffic go past at least if you are in a tent. But we do have about 70 sites here all within a half hour drive or so of Springfield and Eugene. There is a boat ramp at the day use area and the river empties into Lookout Reservoir soon after the campground. There is a nice but short nature trail with various natural features marked. There are a lot of sites good for trailers and RVs especially in the upper area, but be careful the road is tricky to negotiate if you are over about 30 feet.
RV campers should look at the list of sites below to know which site is best for
you.
If you are traveling from Eugene
or Springfield as you head up Hwy 58 you will pass Dexter Shores RV Park. That
park is part of the Hoodoo family and is a place where you can go for a fee to
take showers, do the laundry or use the RV dump. Stop at the office and talk to
our staff. For more information go to our Dexter
Shores RV Park page.
