Paradise is easily the most popular campground on
the McKenzie and it is no wonder. The tall trees are awe inspiring and the
roaring river is spell binding. The sites are ample and for the most part
spread out, with many located right on the river. Paradise also has a nice
driftboat or raft ramp and a new amphitheater in the day use area. This is
the western Cascades at its finest. All the areas are well shaded.
The campers here normally stay for an extended time, but during the week it is
easy to find a spot. Paradise is located close to the west end of the
scenic McKenzie Pass Drive and just a few miles east of the town of McKenzie
Bridge where several good restaurants, a couple of small stores and a great golf
course can be found. For those staying long enough there are showers, RV dump,
and laundry available for a fee at nearby
Patio RV Park. The park is
part of the Hoodoo family and is a source of information about the area. The
campground has 2 flush toilets and 3 additional double vault style toilets and
pressurized drinking water spaced throughout.
Normally the
Paradise host is here from Memorial Day Weekend through at least the Labor Day
Weekend otherwise there will be an attendant who will be visiting the campground
two to four times per day.
