Wiley
Creek
is the first group site located on the north side of the Mountain Loop Road about
5 miles east of the Verlot Public Service Center on the South Fork of the
Stillaguamish River. It has two group sites, A and B each of which are $65 per
night and can hold up to 20 people in each site. To get in, visit the host or attendant at Gold Basin as you head out
to the campground. The host will have a gate key.
Each site has an Adirondack
shelter, which has been renovated in 2008 with a rock BBQ area out in front of the shelter.
Group A(1) has two Adirondacks, the first can hold 8 people on bunk beds and the
second can sleep 12 on the attic floor. The attic floor is about 250 sqft. with
the same area on the floor below. Group B(2) has one 2-level shelter which can
hold 20 people. There is about 400 sqft of space on each level. There is a CXT vault toilet, but no water so bring your own supplies. The
campground is ideal for scout troops or for church groups. The shelters are not
next to the vehicles.
