About 40% of the sites can not be reserved, these and any reservable sites that are not reserved are available on a first come first serve basis from the evenings of 5/20 through 9/26

Golden Age and Golden Access cards only will receive a 50% discount in 2010.

The Upper and Lower Bumping Lake Campground is located off of the Mather Memorial Hwy 410 about 29 miles west of the 410 and Hwy 12 junction. Then turn south on the Bumping Lake Road for about 12 miles (FS Road 1800). If the Chinook Pass is open from Mt. Rainier, it is a fairly easy and very scenic drive from Enumclaw. The pass normally opens in early May or late April. In normally closes by early November. The campground may also be approached from the west on Hwy 12 to 410 and then go east or through Yakima and Naches from the east.

  The campground has a pressurized water system in the upper campground and water provided by hand pump in the lower campground, with paved roads  throughout. There is a boat ramp in the day use area. The day use area requires a NW Forest Pass which may be purchased by the day or season. There are 67 sites mostly back in sites, but with 10 pull through sites meant for trailers, as well. Reservations are available for 60% of the sites. The rest are first come first serve. The campground is often full during the weekends, but good sites are easily available on most days during the midweek. Reservation sites are also available to the first come user until the site is reserved. There is an RV dump site with a $10 charge located at the entry.

 We expect to have a host in the campground from about Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant will be visiting the campground two to four times per day.
