Packard Creek Group Site
This is a very popular campground with the locals, and that is an indication of two things. The first is that when it is popular with a lot of people chances are that you will like it too, and secondly it is
a good idea to reserve the site as early as possible. June and July are the best
times since in dry years the reservoir may start emptying. Many go there because it located right on a reservoir with a good boat ramp and a nice swim area. You should have a Northwest Forest Pass
or pay a day use fee as you enter to use the ramp and/or for the swim area. You do not have to have both.
Either one will suffice for the ramp and/or the swim area, and campers may use both the ramp and the swim area as part of their camping
fee but ask the host for a daily pass if you move your vehicle to the water
parking area. The campground is conveniently close to Oakridge in case you need any supplies for the longer stay.
Packard Creek is one of the best reservoir campgrounds that we manage.
The group site is located in the center of the campground. It has a small covered dining area that provides some shade and a amphitheater for group talks. There is a grassy area for about 10-15 tents and parking for up to about 15 RVs depending on how many cars are there also. Starting in 2005 we will also have some individual sites that may be reserved as well.
The campground is open from April 25 to October 6, 2008, weather permitting. Group camping is limited to about 50-60 persons, but is best for groups of about 40.
$100 per night or $100 for day use only. For reservations go the National Reservation Site by clicking below or by calling their toll free number. Reservations should be made 2 weeks in advance for best results. Overnight reservations have priority when there is a conflict. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A RESERVATION TO USE THIS SITE. This is also available as a first come - first served site if there are no reservations conflicts. (Call 541-484-6595 or 541-822-3799 to find out about reservation conflicts)
