Recreation Vehicles
This year Hoodoo will also be managing RV parks on both sides of the mountain as well as the Hoodoo RV park on site. In Camp Sherman, about 20 minutes from Hoodoo, we will be managing the Black Butte RV Resort. In McKenzie Bridge, about 30 minutes from Hoodoo, we will have the Patio RV park. More will be available about this by the opening of the ski season. However, ski packages will be available to those of you who stay at these resorts.
When everyone else is headed down the mountain our RV guests are just getting started. Often they come for the weekends when they can be on the mountain for night skiing, and then some of them start to party or just enjoy the winter setting. Hoodoo has 32 RV sights close together near the entrance of the bowl and close to the lodge. During the winter season each site comes with electric hookup and basic cable so you don't have to miss the Big Game just because you are on the mountain. In addition the new lodge has tiled bathrooms open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with two pay showers in both the men's and women's rooms.
While parking during the day is free for cars and RVs alike, it costs a fee to stay overnight for both. Parking in the lot overnight without hookups takes a permit, available at the ticket office. The cost each night is $15. (parking your vehicle with no camping or an extra vehicle costs $10 per night) Vehicles left overnight in our lot without a permit may be removed. Hookup permits are also available in the ticket office for $30 per night, but you would be well advised to make a reservation first. RV spots are usually available on the evenings of Sunday through Thursday, but are sometimes hard to come by on Friday and Saturday evenings. Reservations may be made by calling 541-822-3799. Full season passes may be obtained for $500 which entitles a person to have a spot anytime during the winter as long as the RV is occupied, and does not stay on the mountain more than seven days at a time. The RV may stay permanently for a price of $400 per month. There is also a program for getting up to 20 spots per season for a price of $300. A day for the RV stay goes from 4 PM to 4 PM the next day. If you come up early you may park in our bus and RV area if your site is not ready, and then move in when it becomes available.
Regardless of whether you come up and park your vehicle for $10, stay in the parking lot for $15, rent a hookup for $30, or elect to get a longer term pass for the season, RV or trailer stays at Hoodoo are a lot of fun and lets face it what other way can you stay at a ski resort for this type of price. One warning though on nights when it snows you might want to bring earplugs because parking lot plowing starts early in the morning.
