RESERVATION ADVICE: For all of the USFS campgrounds you must make your reservation through the NRRS site or their phone number. Their phone is 1-877-444-6777 or click on their logo at the bottom of this page. For reservations at Patio RV Park, Black Butte RV and Motel Resort, or at Hoodoo Ski Area, you can either email us or call 541-822-3799 or at the individual parks. USFS reservations must be made at least seven days in advance. Reservations for Hoodoo or the private Hoodoo RV parks may be made 48 hours  in advance through Hoodoo or at the last minute by calling the parks directly. The Reservation fee for USFS campgrounds cost about $10. This is a one time fee for the designated site and only is paid once for the length of the reservation. Group sites have only one reservation fee for the length of the reservation even if they include several sites that are designated to be a group. There is no reservation fee for Hoodoo, Patio or Black Butte. Reservation parks and information may be found further down on this page.

If you call the NRRS reservation service they may tell you that the campground is full for that day. This only means that the RESERVATION SITES are full. They have no idea if the whole campground is full. There are only three campgrounds that are all reservation and they are rarely full, Sheep Springs Horse Camp, Olallie, and Scout Lake. Plus our group organization campgrounds need reservations. Otherwise most campgrounds, if they offer reservations, still have half the sites left for those who choose not to make reservations. In addition most campgrounds have other campgrounds nearby where sites may be empty. Study our map on the front page carefully and check for second choices. This year in 2005 the Memorial Weekend and the July 4 weekend will start filling up everywhere. This will be a good time to make reservations if possible.  Of course the first come first serve sites are available, but you should get there early.  If you do come early remember to set up your tent site and pay your fee otherwise it will be assumed that the site is vacant. You are supposed to be there the first night and fees must always be paid.

To make a reservation at a specific campground, the easiest way is to go to our Openings and Closings Page  and then click on the specific reserveable campground that you are interested in. On that page you will find the reservation sites listed in red. From the information there you might pick your desired site. Then click on the NRRS logo at the bottom of that page or the one on the front page, or the bottom of this page. On the first page of the NRRS website you will pick Oregon as the desired state and then click GO. In the Oregon site look for your desired campground in either the Deschutes Forest or the Willamette Forest. Click on the desired campground. They will then give you the reservation information. The dates of opening and closing are those dates during which reservations are taken. Normally we are open longer than this without reservations. As stated above most of our campgrounds are only half reserveable, so if they say that the campground is full this means that only the reserveable sites are gone. It costs about  $10 for a reservation. This fee goes to a company back east, not to Hoodoo.

If you later decide to change the reservation site through the NRRS you will be charged $10 by the NRRS. However, if you come to the campground and find another site within that campground to which you would like to move, that is not reserved, you may with permission from a Hoodoo employee move your fees to the other site without paying an additional reservation fee. Your fee can not be transferred to another Hoodoo campground, sorry. We do not see any of your reservation fees and have no control over your reservation unless you actually camp at the campground. If you have a problem with the reservation, you may find that Hoodoo might not have any information. You will have to call the NRRS number above or below to solve reservation problems. If you decide to cancel your reservations a week before your reserved date, you may do so with full return of campground fees (the money that would have gone to Hoodoo), but your reservation fee (the amount that went to the NRRS) will be kept.

For those of you with a Golden Age Pass, you may use them to reserve a single USFS site (not a group site) but you must be camping at the site. You may not give your card to someone else to use. If the passholder is not at the site, occupants will be asked to pay the full price. A Golden Age Pass may not be used for the extra vehicle unless there is a second passholder.

Below are the prices for individual reservations. The prices are for the site with one vehicle. Most sites have an extra vehicle fee.  Click on the campground names to go to the individual campground page for further information. Group prices are also available. See the group page for the names of campgrounds that have group sites.
