When you arrive...

1.     Lesson reservations are always recommended for Private and mountain cubs. All other group lessons are first come, first serve. Call the ski school office at 541-822-3799, ext. 6510, to make reservations.

2.     In order to not be rushed and to make it to your class on time arrive at the snow sports office 1½ hours before your lesson starts. This will allow you plenty of time to register and get your rentals. If you do not show up an adequate amount of time before your lesson, you may be moved to another time (if one is available). Our registration cut off time is 30 minutes prior to lessons (this may be extended to an even further time if there are significant lines especially during holidays).

3.  Always start you day in the Snow Sports office!!! This is where you will pay for your rentals, lessons and lift ticket. We are located upstairs on the 2nd floor.

4.     Outside the Snow sports office are desks with RENTAL FORMS and LESSON FORMS.

5.     If you HAVE RESERVATIONS you don’t need to fill out the lesson form. You will need to complete a RENTAL form if you need rentals. Make sure ALL grey areas are filled out. If you don’t need rentals, proceed to the Office.

6.     If you DON'T HAVE RESERVATIONS then fill out a LESSON FORM, as well as a RENTAL form if you need rentals. Make sure ALL grey areas are filled out on your rental form. Afterwards proceed to the office.

7.     If you don’t have the proper forms filled out, you will be sent to the form table again to do this and that could mean another wait in line. Make sure your forms are filled out accordingly.

8.    A $250 security deposit is required for snowboards lessons; please have your credit/debit card available (your card will not be charged unless your rental equipment is returned damaged).

9.  After you have paid for your lesson, go downstairs to the rental area with your rental form indicating that you have paid. Pick up your skis at the counter in the main lobby or go down the hall to the South entrance to the snowboard counter. You should not have to go to the payment line in the middle since you should have taken care of this in the Snow Sports office. If you have a mountain cub go directly to the mountain cub room from the snow sports office. Their rentals are fitted there.

10.   Meet your instructor in the school's staging area next to the Easy Rider Chair outside the north end of the lodge.

WHICH GROUP LESSONS DO I SIGN UP FOR?

Ski lessons and Snowboard lessons are normally separate and these groups are for 8 years and older.    For Younger Age Lessons, Adult Workshops or Multiweek Programs please click HERE

1. LEVEL ONE: (first timers) These are for you if you have never skied or snowboarded before. The lesson package is 90 minutes long and includes the lift ticket for Easy Rider, rentals, and the lesson. (rentals do not have to be included).

2. LEVEL TWO: For skiers that can make slight wedge turns and for snowboarders that feel somewhat comfortable on the Easy Rider Lift runs. Both should feel capable on the lifts. Level Two lessons last  60 minutes and normally  include an all mountain lift ticket, lesson and rentals.

3 LEVEL THREE and FOUR: Skiers should be able to make controlled turns and end in a parallel finish. Skiers and Snowboarders should be able to feel comfortable on all Green Runs for Level Three and comfortable on Blue runs for Level Four. These lessons are 60 minutes long and include the lesson only.

4 PRIVATE: These are for all levels and can be designed for individuals or families, but remember you get the most out of a group if you are in members of your own ability.

FOR THE SMART STUDENT

ü                        The instruction you receive is only as good as the relationship you develop with your instructor, so be honest when you evaluate your ability, learning style, preferences and goals.

ü                        The more you tell the SnowSports School Office about yourself, the better your chances of being matched with a compatible mentor.

ü      Keep in mind that experience often means expertise, (and it’s easy to spot the difference between a true pro and the college kid in a ski/snowboard school uniform working for a free season pass).

ü         Finally, it’s not required, but if you enjoy your lesson don’t forget to tip the instructor. For a multi-day class students usually tip between $10-$30; for a one hour private, $10-$20;for a one day group, something less if you feel it is deserved.
