$15 for a single site and a NW Forest Pass for day use. A parking permit needs to be shown in the vehicle, but campers can get a Hoodoo permit if they park in the campground parking lot.

Big Cove Boat-In (formerly Cultus Cove) is a boat in only campground on the west side of Cultus Lake. This is something new to the Deschutes. In the past this campground was cared for on a hit and miss status with no fees and no maintenance or care. Hoodoo has been asked to try to change this. Starting in 2009 a fee will be charged for this boat in campground on the far side of Cultus Lake. Campers will park their vehicles in the Cultus Lake parking lot (Be sure to park in the Cultus Campground lot or you will be charged at the Day Use area for a NW Forest Pass. Ask the host at Cultus if you have questions). They can pay the fees to the Cultus Lake host or put the fee into the iron ranger at Cultus Lake identifying it for Big Cove. The host will then give them a parking permit for the parking lot. Otherwise, a NW parking permit is needed for the boat ramp and parking area. Campers who already have an annual NW Pass still need to pay the camping fee but will not need an additional parking permit posted in the vehicle. The campground sites will have picnic tables and fire pits.

Motor boats for water skiing are allowed on Cultus Lake

Be aware that in the early season mosquitoes have the run of the campground. The Hoodoo crew will go into clean in mid June before the official opening. Before then you will find mosquitoes and a mess left over from campers who did not clean up after themselves.

    An attendant from Cultus Lake will be visiting the campground each day. Campers need to pay in the iron ranger at Cultus Lake or to the host directly.
