This group campground is ideal for large scout,
church or school outings. The campground is huge and mostly open for groups that
like to put up temporary structures or have games and crafts that need open
space. The campground itself is not very special, but it gives you a good place
to stay while visiting the Monument area or to have large outside activities.
Each site is capable of handling about 100 people, but if you want privacy you
might want to reserve all three sites. The map says the sites could each handle
up to 200 persons but that would be crowded in most circumstances.
The campground is maintained by an attendant who will visit the
campground about two times per day. If the gate is still locked when your group
arrives please contact the Prairie host nearby or another host in the Monument
area.
