Pioneer Ford is further down the river from Allen Springs. Each campground is more isolated as they go further from Camp Sherman. The sites here are shady in a mixture of pine and cedar trees. The campground is well-suited to RV's. Area 8 has a picnic shelter. Pioneer Ford is one of the most popular of the campgrounds mostly because of the more isolated sites, but also because the sites are well suited to RVs.       For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower or use the laundry or even need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo's Camp Sherman RV and Motel (aka. Black Butte RV Park). Camp Sherman RV Park is located next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. The host will be glad to help with questions about the campgrounds as well. Also an RV dump is available at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM. A Host is normally in the campground from about July 4 Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise an attendant visits the campground two to four times each day. RV use rating is a 4 (out of 5)
