All of the Metolius campgrounds are serene. Their physical beauty is not as
wondrous as their counterparts at the top of the Cascades, but campers like to
come here to avoid the more plentiful rainfall of the west side of the
mountains. This area is a favorite for the campers who like to fly fish or for
the camper who just wants to relax with a book. Allingham is the second
campground after Camp Sherman.
For those of you who miss the ability to take a shower or use the laundry or
even need an RV dump these amenities are available for a fee at Hoodoo's
Camp
Sherman RV and Motel (AKA Black Butte Resort). Black Butte RV Park is located
next to the school as you enter Camp Sherman. Also an RV dump is available
at the Hoodoo Lodge from 9AM to 4PM.
Allingham Host is in the Smiling River Campground from about Memorial Weekend to
Labor Day Weekend.
