Deschutes National Forest - Crescent Lake Area View Larger Map

    THE CRESCENT LAKE AREA includes seven campgrounds right on the lake and one more about five miles to the east on Crescent Creek. The lake is just south of Crescent Lake Junction which is at about mile post 69 to post 70 on Highway 58 which goes from I-5 just south of Eugene to Highway 97 on the east side of the Cascades. There is a very popular group campground, Simax, along with two more smaller group campgrounds, Contorta Point and Windy. Spring Lake is a large wide open campground with many single sites and one group site on the south side of the lake with nearby Contorta Flat a smaller isolated single site style campground also on the lake. Also on the south side is Whitefish Horse campground with excellent corrals and trails leading up to the Diamond Lake Wilderness area. Crescent Lake campground may be the most popular of the campgrounds with its location right next to the Crescent Resort where you can rent a boat, have a meal or sit down over drinks.
